Position Overview:
As a Senior DevOps freelancer, you will be responsible for collaborating with our development and operations teams to streamline our software delivery pipeline, automate deployment processes, and optimize system performance. You will work on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust infrastructure solutions to support our trading platforms and applications. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to support our trading systems and applications.

2. Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, testing, and deployment processes, ensuring faster and more reliable releases.

3. Monitoring and Alerting: Set up monitoring tools and implement proactive alerting mechanisms to detect and respond to system issues, performance bottlenecks, and security threats in real-time.

4. Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the security team to implement and enforce best practices for security, compliance, and data protection across our infrastructure and applications.

5. Automation: Develop scripts and tools for automating repetitive tasks, infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and scaling of resources to improve efficiency and scalability.

6. Performance Optimization: Identify opportunities for optimizing system performance, scalability, and resource utilization through fine-tuning configurations, load balancing, and caching strategies.

7. Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth collaboration, knowledge sharing, and documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications:

– Proven experience as a DevOps engineer or similar role.
– Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
– Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
– Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience with related tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
– Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation and tooling.
– Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
– Knowledge of security best practices, network protocols, and compliance standards relevant to the financial industry.
– Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
